HQAL – 13 December 2020

Happy Sunday!  South Texas is going to be cold this week – yea!   Only 18 more days of this wonderful 2020!  I can hardly wait!

Of course, it is another Same Stuff Different Day (SSDD) around here while we just stay at home afraid to get the CV!  So here goes for my HQAL!  I have a finish – I cannot believe that it has taken me so long to finish this block!  Next step (whenever I get the urge) will be to decided how to put the blocks together!

I am also working on the Medallion for Stars Around the Garden.  Just have 5 leaves appliquéd so far.  I hope that I get with the program on this one because I could have another top finished by the end of December!

For something different to do this morning I sat with Clay while he was talking to the guys on the Radio.  That was different and I love talking to them.  I told Clay that we need to buy an old RV and put it under the shed and stay in it for a week – that would be different!

I need inspiration but just have not found it yet!  Maybe today!  It just has to be around here somewhere!  Does anyone out there have any left over that they are not using and can give it to me?  LOL

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

    1. Hi Sharon! thank you on the layout and the finish!
I am clearing up some paperwork today and then I plan on moving projects that “I want to do to” to a box where I won’t see them each time I get to the Studio – then maybe I will just enjoy what I want to do each day. It is all a part of de-stressing from this last year – and I just need to go with whatever comes for the day – NOW by 1 Jan 2021 things will change it will be a new year and I hope to bury the last 15 month never to remember them!!! LOL. Hugs and Merry Christmas to you also!

  2. Good to hear you are having cooler weather. It’s been nice weather here in Ga, even if the news isn’t all that great. Inspiration… do something you haven’t done before..like order twenty ducklings!😂 love your projects.

    1. Hi Deb – Yes and Texas and Georgia has been on the news a lot! Of course you know I am praying for a correction and for a successful Senate Race for Kelly and David. I really like Doug Collins, but hopefully his future will be great for him. We could have used him in the House.

I think I am going to just move books around! No brainer stuff. My issue is in the de-stressing from over a year of nothing but stress and just do not know what to do with myself! Too stupid and funny and the same time!

OH I want a dog like a lot of people love to have when there is no family, but do not want to be responsible for cleaning the house every day and following a puppy around to clean up any mess! HUMMM. think I can find my creativity now thinking about that!

Thank you on my projects! Hugs

  3. The cooler weather will increase your energy, no doubt. I see that you are going to put your projects in a box, I like that idea, sometimes the mess from so many things in progress takes away my motivation. If you have a day and you don’t know what you want to work in, you could gamble and roll the dice and then work on that box for 30 minutes. You might keep going, or you can put it up because you now know what you want to work on. Just an idea.

  4. Love your finish! You could park that old RV out in the national forest somewhere for a week – it’s free – and that would be different! I wish I had one, I’d be out there right now.

  5. Glad your weather is cooler! It’s 29 here this morning, and we actually got some flakes of snow last night – I was stoked. Congrats on your finish and here’s hoping that you enjoy your week!

  6. Are you making reference to a ham radio? I had an uncle who was a ham radio. He always had interesting stories to tell. And I knew a woman who bought herself one. An interesting story goes with it but not for here.
