Churn Dash OMG – June 2022

Happy July! Only 3 more months of 100 degree weather! I am probably the only one who complains about the weather. I just need to let it go and turn the air conditioner down to 60! LOL.

Last post I discussed Cabin Fever in my To Do Tuesday post. I did a deep dive into why I did not really want to do anything and I remembered that when I was under so much stress in 2021 that in November I had increased my Meniere’s mediation slightly (VERY SLIGHTLY). Then it hit me – I have no stress anymore, it is gone forever with the exception of what God has in store for us in later life and that is not my worry! So I went back to my regular dose last night. I am going to assume that was the problem and go forth and quilt!

Most of the problem is due to my sensitivity to medication and guess the little increase caught up with me. I know that everyone just loves to hear this soap opera about my stupid small insignificant things that I have to deal with because of a sensitive system, so thank you for hanging in there.

On to my Squirrel project. I decided to join the group working on Chookyblue’s Churn Dash SAL last month and completed my 20 blocks for June early. I am making 6″ blocks rather than 9″ blocks and using my 1930 fabric stash. They go fast and are so much fun to make. So now it is time to start on the 2nd group of 20. Check out Chookyblue’s blog to see how everyone is doing with their Churn Dash SAL!

June Blocks

Today will be a busy day as I will be cutting out more pieces for my Wedding Ring Quilt and my July Churn Dash blocks. I am looking forward to this month as I only have one dental appointment and will be done until the last one in August!!!!!! I am happy about that.

Have a wonderful 4th of July week-end and enjoy your hobbies.

Hugs, Nanette

  1. You can write about any and all ailments and I will read and nod in sympathy! 😀 I hope your solution works.
I bet you feel cheated out of any rain from that Gulf system – seems like they always go east instead of straight north.
Love your churn dashes – especially in those cute 1930s prints.
    Enjoy your weekend!

  2. I am so glad you puzzled out what was bothering you. My husband is also super sensitive and it honestly helps to know that others out there need to balance things as carefully as we do here. Enjoy those churn dash blocks; the ones you have pieced look wonderful. Happy quilting!

Yup, Celiac makes the diet very restricted and I am super super to inactive ingredients to med’s along with the medication for Meniere’s can get me if I have to increase it – we are talking 1/8 of a mcg! Doing so much better now. Just need to have 10 inches of rain! (Wishful thinking this summer). I love the blocks they are fun to make!
