HQAL and Celebrating Mary Brown

Well, the time has come!  Cataract surgery is scheduled for 1 October and 8 October!  Eye drops start today!  AND my “I cannot do anything but sit” vacation time is coming for 2 weeks.  No lifting, bending, or running and jumping!  I do believe that I can stick to those rules!  Clay is finished with his surgery and is just down to drops until 22 Oct!  YEA for him.

I have nothing to show today for HQAL because we are having so much fun traveling 100 miles a day (round trip) to the doctor’s office – 8 trips in the last 2 weeks!  We are so happy because we are half way through this double person cataract experience.  This week and next week will be 3 days going to SA in a row and then it tapers off to only 1 day a week for 3 weeks.

I do have 16 blocks prepared for Celebrating Mary Brown – so when things really are finished I will be able to catch up with all! Be sure to check out the progress of others tomorrow (30 Sep) for their progress on this project!

I do hope that those who are enjoying cooler weather sends some to us here in burning up land South Texas – it has been back to 100+ heat index again!

Check out all the ladies who participate in HQAL – I am sure they have been very busy and have some great pictures of their projects.

  2. Oh, goodness — you’re both doing the cataract surgery one right after the next? I hope all goes smoothly and that the payoff is many, many more years of excellent eyesight for needlework! A hundred mile round trip day after day has got to get old fast!

    1. Yes. What other couple would be having this together? LOL. We will have put 1800 miles on the car when finished. I am the main driver! Clay got spoiled when in the Fire Dept! He had a driver! LOL.

  3. Is that being done on FB? I didn’t see anything on their blogs about the QAL. It’s such a pretty quilt, and you are ready for stitching as soon as you can see. I hope all goes well for both eyes.

  4. Hi Nanette! I’m holding you in my prayers. Good luck with the surgery and enjoy that imposed sit-and-do-nothing stint. It’ll be behind you in no time at all. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
