Easter Day a Time for Renewal of Faith and Hope

Happy Easter and hoping all are having a great day in rejoicing the fact that He Has Risen from the Grave!

I know I am late in posting for HQAL, but I have just finished another block for Sweet Stitches. Check out the ladies who participate in this group – they really make some beautiful quilts! Ā This one is Number 9 of 12! Ā On the way to a finish (maybe this summer). Ā This is the Squirrel with the Acorns for the Winter! Ā When I purchased the BOM series, fabric was furnished, so it will be fun to make a whole quilt out of the ‘individual’ blocks.

After 3 months and 13 days of our personal journey of “distancing” from a normal life – today after my walk I sat on the porch and enjoyed the fresh air. Ā It is going to be a hot summer this year, at least in South Texas. Ā My Weather Radar kept telling me it would be in the 70’s with humidity in the 80’s but the Weather Woman kept telling us that it would be in the 40’s. Ā Humm I need to send her a link to my APP. Ā LOL.

I am beginning to miss our annual Spring getaway, but then remember that we still have to go through the Heart thing to get Clay up and running! (No control on the timeframe) I have started appliquĆ©ing and working on my embroidery projects again, especially when the TV is on, or if Mr Fibro is hanging around, like he usually does in the Spring time with all the drastic weather changes. Ā  It would be so nice to just give up, sit in a chair and watch nothing but mindless movies, BUT alas, I cannot do that! Ā I must continue on with my schedule (really have lost the desire to be the house cleaner every 3 weeks). Ā Walking releases those endorphins that help us have an upbeat day with power positive thinking! Ā (Now do not think that I can be positive every day – LOL).

Have a blessed week and let’s all think positive about going back to living EVEN if it means gloves and masks! Ā Heck you will save on makeup! Ā LOL

Hugs to all – Nanette

    1. Belated Happy Easter to you also… This has been a fun project even if it was started about 4 years ago! Think it is called a UFO! LOL. – One thing I have learned from this year is – one day at a time and do not plan anything! For a control freak like me it was a hard way to learn the lesson! Hugs

  2. Sweet squirrel, Nanette! Nothing wrong with sitting out in the sunshine, and doing nothing but finding joy in the moment! Love it!

    1. Hi Laura – thank you! We found one day to sit in the sun! Yesterday was “dealing with people” on the phone day – I wonder why I ever retired! I am still working on problems with companies and now dealing with BAMC and Medicare! Oh Boy! Have a great day and stay healthy!

  3. Stay Happy. Being at home has made me slow down and enjoy the day. Sewing alittle then on to baking, reading, etc.

    1. Hey Nancy – owe you a phone call! YUP I have really had a hard year and learned to live one day at a time. Guess we all are getting a message of some sort in our lives whether we want it or not! LOL. Send those goodies to Texas! Take Care. Hugs

  4. That is a lovely stitchery block!
Maybe that’s my problem… I cannot go outside because we have to stay home… and I am really missing the endorphins for sure. Can’t wait until I can get those back!

    1. Thank you Kathy! We are so spoiled – We have 5 acres and I walk 10 times from the porch to the gate which is 600 feet to the road! I can still do the 1.5 miles in 30 minutes at a 20 minute mile – not bad for a 75 year old – I am so looking forward to 2021!!! (that is what I said about 2020 – think I made a mistake on this one!). Hugs

  5. LOL, I’ve not used make-up since I was about 20, so I already have a lifetime of savings there. =) I’m glad to hear you sounding so positive, and getting things done. The squirrel is great!

    1. Hi Susan, Thx on the Squirrels. We are excited about SA opening up for surgeries! I am hoping that we can get his heart surgery done and by June life will begin for us for 2020! Been a long 4 months so far – Only home, surgeries, procedures, and doctor visits along with therapy. Clay is doing so much better each day with his hand. Will take time, but with the delay in his heart issue he has had time to really work with the injured hand.

I am so glad that I withdrew from the group as I would be a non-participating person for this year! LOL

  7. Hi there, you make very artistic designs, very lovely. I will surely come back to your blog to get new ideas.
By the way, I am new in blogging and I hope you can support me. Just recently, I made a challenge to myself to visit at least 10 blogs for the next 21 days. As I visit blogs, I will leave comment and put your link on my blog too. Hope you can visit my blog too.

  8. Your quirrel block is quite nice. I am always drawn to squirrel designs in quilts. We have a bunch of squirrels that hang out around our house. There is a big oak tree in the front yard and the squirrels like the little acorns.

    1. They are fun to embroider. When we were feeding the deer (quit due to too many) the squirrels would just lay in the corn and get fatter and fatter! Too funny! We still have squirrels but not as many! Hugs
