OMG for August 2022

Greetings – Still summer weather – hot and humid now. More rain expected this week-end. We had a great rain event on Tuesday – Some heavy downpours and light rain for 6 hours – the most since October 2021!!! My walking is getting better – at least I go for 20 minutes and stop after I hit the mile mark. I will really have to push harder when the cooler weather gets here (someday) as it was a 23 minute mile! But today I walked the 20 minutes without stopping! YEA and at least I am not in the house riding a bike to nowhere!

The new chairs arrived Tuesday in the middle of the rain event! Then upon closer review of the chairs we discovered problems with the chairs. They are ordering new chairs that will be delivered IN THE BOX so they will not be damaged in shipment. Hopefully this will take place next week on Tuesday. We will be able to keep the damaged ones until the new chairs are delivered. We were very disappointed because the store we purchased them from is a high end Lazy Boy Store. But we had a great salesman and he is correcting the problem.

These are the things I worked on for August. I will be working on the next border this month.

My Surprise Quilt
80 Churn Dash Blocks for Chookyblue’s SAL!
Block 1 of In My Garden quilt
Waiting to start on the border!

For September:

  1. Work on My Surprise Quilt – Next Surprise Border.
  2. Decisions on Settings for Churn Dash Blocks and if I make one large quilt or 2 smaller ones.
  3. I have started on Block 2 of In My Garden and will continue on this month.
  4. Work on the Border for Boo’s and Bat’s Cross Stitch.

NOTICE: I had subscribed to Bloglovin. I guess it is belly up because the link to it is BROKEN. So I went to Follow It and put in the Blogs that I love to follow and now I am getting emails when everyone posts. I had to be sure and go into the settings and select EMAILS and no news. I know I have lost a few that I followed, but eventually I will catch up.

Have a great month in meeting your OMG’s.

Hugs, Nanette

  1. How nice to see a round up of your present projects, Nanette. So many lovely designs to hold your attention and like me, keep us busy and not thinking of the greater world ills. Happy Stitching!

  2. Be careful walking in the heat and humidity, it’s fine to have a slower paced mile until autumn is really here in your neck of the desert. (I would say woods but I know there are no woods close by you) Happy stitching!

    1. If I am tired the day after walking, I do not walk the next day. Now we are in the lower 90’s BUT the humidity is high high high! I am getting better with the walk – But won’t try the usual 20 minute mile until it reaches 60 in the mornings. Right now it is still 75 (average). Have a great Labor Day and good week! Hugs

  3. I am dragging on responding. New chairs arrive tomorrow. We are really getting used to the new ones and they are great! We have some cooler days but the Humidity is horrible. I have 2 rooms and only have the Sewing Chairs – one at the computer desk and one at the machine. I will send you a few pictures! Hug

  4. Well, at least you get out and walk. If we do go out on high humidity days, we go early. Actually, hubs goes early. I stay in – I don’t enjoy being out in the heat. Your quilt projects are lovely, especially those blue stars!
