Christmas In July – Sewing, Etc Challenge

Kathy has thrown us a nice Christmas Challenge – work on projects that will need to be finished by Christmas. Check it out at Kathy’s Blog. She has set up a Linky Party for those who wish to participate.

I am working on a Christmas embroidery project that I started in December 2021. There are 16 blocks for this project. I am on Block 5 and would like to have it finished before Christmas. I blame Laura on this one!

5 Blocks of 16!
Block 5

I will add this to my hand work and hopefully I will be able to finish a block a week in time to post on Kathy’s site.

Here is a better picture of our beautiful Bunting Bird! The screen dulls the colors but it is very difficult to get a close up without it.

Have a great week!

Hugs, Nanette

    1. Thx Gretchen. I am really trying to get into doing anything. The fact that we are stuck at home and it is so hot in Texas that traveling would not be fun. First time in my life to suffer Cabin Fever! But I am trying to get this project done quickly. It is easy and mindless hand work. You are really doing some beautiful scrappy quilts.

    1. Go put the blame on someone – I am glad she did a little challenge for UFO’s starting in July – not a new project! Didn’t you finish this Moda Holiday quilt? I thought it was on your web site where I found it – maybe it was Nana… Well, with Cabin Fever I am losing my brain – down the drain! Hugs

  1. HAHAHAHAHA! I was just “blaming” Laura for a different project. It seems that there is plenty of blame to be shared all around. Great job on the blocks, Nanette! {{{Hugs}}} ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Well, we certainly cannot take the blame for stopping a current project and starting another can we? I need a quilting partner close so I can blame them! This one is mindless and not thinking – red and green – cannot get any easier than that! LOL. Hugs

  2. OK Christmas in July is really appealing right now. I HAVE to get my embroidery blocks back out and work on those at night. Yours look fantastic! I also have some ornaments I really want to make that have been sitting in a box for 2-3 years, so I’m going to try to get myself motivated.

    1. Send some hot weather motivation down here! I am in the Cabin Fever crap again! Coming out today though! I wanted to do some lap hooking but all I did was get the book out! Oh well! A dose of enthusiasm would help me – Send it COD please! Hugs and hope your eye is better!

  3. Your embroidery is beautiful, and I’m trying so hard not to add that to my ever growing ne projects list! Most of my handwork of late is focused on my English paper piecing projects.
