We can begin to kiss August goodbye and hello to September and hopefully Fall! Ah cooler weather. I have not been able to get a lot done, but today I did finish putting all labels on 10 quilts (1 wall hanging (small) and 2 table runners). These are all old OLD UFOs that required my attention. I always put labels on my quilts, although I do believe some have slipped through the crack in the past.
It is important to have that label attached for historical purposes for family, friends, or whomever ends up with your quilts.

It always feels so good to finish up projects that have been hanging around for so long. I have 3 more quilts that were among the first of my quilts made as I began my quilting journey, one is in the process of being quilted and the other 2 are hanging on the rack to be quilted by long stitch quilting by hand.
Have a wonderful week and enjoy your Slow Stitching Sunday!
Hugs, Nanette

Hi Nanette! Another blogger (Joyce) shared the topic of labels and they have been on my mind last week. Seeing you mention it reinforces my desire to actually move toward labeling our quilts. We have been rather remiss at doing so, meaning not at all. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

I think that I also became lazy in doing a few. But these were some of my first quilts and wanted to document the story. Most of my labels are much smaller. But I will now do the label when the quilt is quilted because doing 10 at the same time gets old. LOL. Hugs

That’s one of those seemingly small jobs that don’t get done and then wear on us until they are. Bet you are feeling free, having all of those completely finished!!

Labels are a big hurdle for some reason! Congrats! 🙂

That is so true, and yet it takes so much time to complete the top and then quilt it only to balk at doing a little label. We are so funny! Hugs

Your labels are so thoughtful and informative! Yes, labels are often passed over in my world as well. Thank you for sharing and inspiring us to take this last oh-so-special step. 🙂

Thank you Mia. It is like finishing a gift, but not wanting to put it in a box and wrapping it! Is that a good parallel? LOL. Hugs

Good for you for getting the labels on your quilts. I try to label all of mine too. I find that if I don’t do it right away, they tend to become a long term project.

You are so true in your statement of putting them off. Just takes about an hour to make the label and put it on – Just like me just making quilt tops and hanging them on the rack for years…. LOL. Hugs

How can you possibly say you haven’t got much done this summer? Didn’t you say you had cleaned 2 quilt rooms. I would consider that a whole years job. LOL

You know, I forgot that I did clean the Studio, also cleaned out paperwork, and then I cleaned out the room where we had set up a table for all the extra food and toiletries that we purchased during the craziness of shortages. THAT felt great because the long table kept me from getting to my overflow fabric in that room. I have accomplished a lot and thank you for reminding me. Now the goal is to just have live become boring for awhile so I can finish up the UFOs, which are becoming less and less! Have a wonderful day!
