And a Happy Tuesday to all! It is summer hot here in South Texas now – reaching into heat index’s of over 100! I will be sitting in the sun about 15 minutes each day to supplement my Vitamin D with a fan on me, but it is worth it as each day I have more energy, no depression, sleeping well, and motivation to quilt on my projects! YEA! Life is getting better.
These were my goals last week.
- Be happy for all that we have and forget about the bad! √
- Sew the binding for Autumn Jubilee √
- Load and quilt another quilt (May be my Red, White and Blue Log Cabin) ↓
- Work on Dresden Plates (Applique) √
- Work on A Bountiful Life (Applique) ↓
- Stay on my special diet! √
Happiness has found me again thanks to time in the Sun and more Sun Lamp time! ☀
I have the binding sewn and ready to hand stitch for Autumn Jubilee

I did not get my RWB Log Cabin load, but it will be done this week. It is a smaller quilt and will not take long to complete it.

AND finally I am beginning to make progress on Dresden Heaven! Amazing when one has energy, creativity, and drive to work on hobbies! I have a total of 26 completed (without the circles) and only 79 small ones to finish! I believe there are about 10 larger Dresdens to applique when those are completed, but the end is getting closer to completion. The push is on as I am working on this project during the day to get it finished!

I am sticking to my Cluck Cluck Diet and not straying anymore! It just is not worth it.
Goals for 7 – 14 June 2021
- Continuing working on Dresden Plates
- Load RWB Log Cabin quilt on long arm and quilt it.
- Work on binding for Autumn Jubilee.
- Work on A Bountiful Life Blocks.
- Continue with improving my Vitamin D levels and staying on the Cluck Cluck Diet.
- Look through the windshield of life and not in the rearview mirror – Yesterday is gone.
Have a great week stitching and enjoy what you are doing! Take time to sit in the sun for 10 minutes if possible each day! Vitamin D – The Sunshine Vitamin!
Hugs, Nanette

Hi Nanette! I have to watch my vitamin D as well. Mine was really low about 10 years ago (only 4!) so I am conscious of it now. I am firmly in the 30-35 range now and can certainly tell the difference. I love the Dresden blocks – they look so fun and pretty. I’m so glad you are feeling better! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Well, I tried a 5,000iu (2 of them) by cutting off the capsule and just putting the D3 on my egg – that was just too strong. So I do my lamp 10 minutes, 10 minutes in the sun, and today am trying one of Clay’s with only 2000iu and think it is going to work. I stick a pin in the end and the put it in my poached egg! Fingers crossed. Now Mr stupid Artihitis is here today with the horrible humidity and heat index. I am so happy now that I am doing the indoor bike!
I am really feeling the desire now and finished another 8 Dresdens last night – another 9 today is In the works.
I will put the long arm off until tomorrow.
Have a great day! Hugs

I had no idea that low D could make us feel so miserable! I am determined now to get the Dresdens finished and finish up A Bountiful Life. Then my life will be my own as far as quilting goes. I had thought I would be finished with all by 1 June – what a joke! LOL.
Motivation – Mine was when I had to cover up the projects I wanted to start – that depressed me more than ever – LOL. I will get there but it may be end of July!

I’m so happy to read you’re feeling better! My foot doctor had me start taking Vitamin D before my surgery, and we’ve continued to take it. I had depression back in the late 1980s-early 1990s, and I always attributed it to hormones. Maybe it was not enough D, because I was either inside or working in an office all the time. Your Dresdens are so, so pretty, and I’m in love with Autumn Jubilee!

Thank you Linda. I did not realize that the D had such an impact on our immune system. I thought that I was doing fine with it. This is what happens when we cannot get our regular doctor visits. I will be getting my BW every 3 months from now on. I want to see if the increase in the D will bring my immune system up.
Thank you for the nice comments and Autumn Jubilee was a fun quilt to make! Just need to get going on the hand work for the binding and it will be a finish!
Enjoyed looking at your sewing room pictures – very nice view out the window! Hugs

I feel like I was in an office for the last year working on that BAMC paperwork – that got me away from the sitting in the sun! Well time to go get some D! Hugs

You know, I did not do that! I just added my post! Wonder where my mind was on that day. I am doing better. The sun has become my best friend along with more Sun Lamp. I am getting there. I will be glad when the 23rd comes and goes – that is when I get the Endoscopy! Have a great week-end and thx for the tweak on missing my post! Hugs

Well, I am getting there. I am better but those pesky dogs keep nipping at my feet! LOL. I know there are so many out there who are really suffering from what they have put us through unnecessarily! But if we keep the faith all will be better and the truth revealed! Hugs

Oh my gosh I love the Dresden Heaven. Did you use a pattern for that? Glad you are feeling better. Perhaps I need to sit in the sun for 15 min a day, I have to take 50k units of vitamin D once a week.

I cannot tolerate the vitamin or the pill.
I do a sun lamp and sit in direct sunlight 15 minutes each day. 15 minutes in the sun gives me 15,000 IU’s each day. I also eat 4 to 5 eggs each day.
I just fell of the sunlight wagon.
Take care.
