Good morning Quilters! It is HQAL and a Slow Sunday Stitching day all in one! Take the time to click on the ladies (links below) who participate in HQAL and review their latest projects.
We are now the new Desert for sure – 66 days without rain, and 141 days with some rain, but nothing over an inch or two! Setting up a piggy bank for tree cutting – maybe I need to get a part time job because the tree cutting business is beginning to really boom in South Texas and probably all across the state. The area lakes are down about 49 feet! We will just pray for rain because there is nothing in the forecast forthe remainder of April.
I have FINALLY started Dresden Heaven. I believe there are 105 mini and 10 large Dresden Plate blocks to applique to background squares. The small ones are appliqued to 5” Squares. I cut a section of the background fabric and draw a grid. This makes it much easier to applique when working with small blocks.

Now on to Jacobean Holidays. I finally have it on the Design Wall and know what I will do with it! The last 4 blocks (along with a few that were finished but did not make the Design Wall) are in the “trash drawer” never to be used! I think I just may hand quilt this puppy as the background fabric is very light weight and probably would not be a good candidate for the long arm machine. I have one more border to add and then I will do a post tomorrow for To Do Tuesday.
Counting down the time to head to our favorite Casino! Cannot wait! Have a great week!
Hugs, Nanette

Ugh on no rain. Hoping some spring-like weather makes it down your way soon. Those Dresden plates are pretty. Take care!

It may take awhile – hopefully by the end of May it will be done! Target for new quilts is June! LOL

Dresden Heaven is going to be lovely. You’re off to another great start with this one. Ugh on no rain. Having raised may family in the desert of Palm Springs – all familiar with the need for a tree fund piggy bank. Remembering the days we hauled all bath water out to the plants 🙂

It is one of the last of the UFOs to finish hand work – this one and Stonefields. Getting there – Goal is to be finished by end of. May! Clay is so worried about the drought – it just won’t leave – almost 15 years of it! Hugs. (Hauling bathwater out to the plants does not sound like fun!). LOL

Hi,
Love the mini Dresden blocks. Here at my home in Northeast Indiana, we have been slack on rain…March and April are usually rainy months here. Hope you get some rain soon. Have a great day!

Thank you so mucho on the Dresden blocks! They should go fast. Not sure what May will bring here – probably 100 degrees with high humidity! Hugs

We are dry here as well but not as dry as y’all! Your quilt is going to keep you busy for a bit. Looks great though. ❤️

It has been a dry winter, that’s for sure! It’s snowing just a bit this morning, the end of the storm that came through. It did actually rain for a little bit before it turned to snow and no wind. There were tiny 3 inch drift piles in the fence wire! I am so happy you are working on the mini Dresdens, I love those little guys!
