I am so happy! I met my goal of quilting one quilt a month for the next 12 months. I believe that I will be able to surpass that goal this year. I have 30 quilt tops to quilt and Gail’s PHD in 2021Gail’s PHD in 2021 is really helping me obtain my goal of catching up on a few years of quilt tops that have not been quilted!
I made this quilt when Jocelyn first posted about her quilt that she was making based on this pattern. I cannot remember who made the original. I made a modified version.
It was a time when I wanted to do something simple and easy as I was still having eye issues from the Cataract surgery in October 2019. I started my quilt on 16 December and finished it on 29 December 2019 . I chose this quilt to be the first finish for PHD in 2021 and here she is!
I chose this for the backing. It is colorful and blends in well with the quilt top.
I have had my Handi Quilter since 2005 and in the last 2 years I have not quilted very often since early 2019. Everything went absolutely perfect today – I could see very well, and my machine purred along without one problem! What a day! I did a mid size free nothing meandering for this quilt. I have named it Colorful HST’s. I normally do my bindings by hand, but this time I did it on the machine and am very pleased as to how it came out.
Have a wonderful week and keep on stitching!
Hugs, Nanette

Congratulations on the completion. It looks great! I’m so happy you enjoyed the quilting and everything went well. It does make a difference when you can see, doesn’t it?

Thank you Susan, yes the ability to quilt without having the glasses is great! Frame re-set to the correct height and just enough lighting – it was great.

It does, now if someone would just burn down all the Cedar trees.

Well, I needed more of a border for the quilting so I decided to really make it bright! LOL. Will load another quilt next week. This week I need to get other things done. The cedar is back with a vengeance – looking like I may just go back to bed today! Hugs

What a beautiful quilt, elegant in its simplicity. Love the outer border you chose but I’m even happier to hear that your eye sight is good again! We quilters really need good eyes. Hope you have a good February as well.
