WOW – 3 weeks into the New Year! I hope everyone is enjoying the New Year! I am just now beginning to. We have a new lawn mower and the Termite Treatment is almost complete. A return visit tomorrow to foam the outer wall where Clay found the Termites.
I have one more week to get a quilt quilted. I have selected one that will be possible to get done in a day!! Tomorrow is ‘load the quilt day’ for PHD 2021 goal!
I have made some stride on Stars Around the Garden Medallion! BUT I had to rip out 2 of the stems and re-applique them as they just did not look smooth enough, so if not for that I would be half way through! I need to do 3 flowers and will be on to the 2nd half!
Let’s see! I have started a knitting a dish cloth – I love to knit during the winter time. Right now I am enjoying just doing whatever each day. I am working from my UFO list. Believe me – my list is large enough that I have plenty of items to chose from and never get bored!
Last year I purchased some fabrics to participate in Jen’s 2020 Color Challenge but was not able to participate, so today I am now working on 2020 and 2021’s Color Challenge. More on this one in another post. It is not a difficult project and feels good to make a nice 12” block rather than those 2 inch 9 patch blocks for OMIGOSH!
Speaking 0f OMIGOSH, I have now decided to make a total of 30 blocks. So far I have 14 blocks complete and 8 cut out and ready to sew. This means I only have 8 more blocks to cut out and sew! There will be 5 blocks across and 6 blocks down. Because there is a border (or 2) on the quilt, I am not sure of the final measurements. Looking like a light at the end of the quilting tunnel for me.
OK you might remember I purchased a few Cross Stitch books and all the goodies that go with that hobby! Well, I have not been able to even touch that project, but maybe this next week.
I hope that everyone has a great week. I am looking forward to a 100% quilting time!
Hugs, Nanette

Thank you Susan. Things are a lot calmer. I had better get that puppy loaded – but maybe I should do a practice piece since I have not quilted one in the last year. Hugs

I enjoyed doing that little quilt. It was easy and fun to play with the scraps. I tend to be moving from here to there, but it is fun – no boredom! I used to crochet – have plenty of a stash for that also. Hugs

It was fun yesterday to do something different than OMIGOSH – I am happy that I know how many blocks I need to do and that I am stopping at 30! Hope you have a better day today! Love ya

Hi Nanette! I love the fabrics in your lemon yellow block – it’s nice and sunny on a gray day. Your OMGosh is making some headway, although I suppose you don’t feel like it is. You’re almost halfway finished. The yarn you are using for the dishcloth is so pretty! That is the color of my kitchen and living room (it’s all open and connected). That sounds like a nice, relaxing activity for the long winter evenings. ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank you Roseanne! I like having the blocks all cut out and in baggies. That way I have been able to put the fabrics back in the drawers. This way I can do other things if I do not feel the need to make the tiny blocks, although, they are becoming faster and easier the more you make. I never thought I would get this quilt made. There is hope! LOL. I purchased this yarn about 2 years ago? It is a good yarn for dish cloths. Today it is 70 with humidity of 93%. Yuk, but alas, a cold front is coming this morning to take the humidity away and cool back down. Have a great day. Hugs

I bought the same fabric for the 2020 that you did. I reversed the colors. I am going to work with the fabrics (bought 1/2 a yard of each color) for the 2021 project – so I may have 2 quilts from this! Yea
